  1. guys im dealing with VRO files of DVD Ram discs which i gathered are some form of mpeg2..

    im confused myself..but im using tmpgenc plus, and i just wanna convert the VRO files to something more standardised..like an mpeg2 file..

    but at super high quality? if u get what i mean. like i know if i converted them to mpeg1..id lost some quality..

    so far, im converting them through the wizard as follows;

    i choose DVD-PAL with MPEG1 LAYER II AUDIO(MP2)
    I leave the 'expert settings for source' alone.. should i be changing them?

    in 'other settings' - i change the rate control mode to '2 PASS VBR'

    and often muddle with the audio increasing its bitrate to 384kb/s..

    As u can see, i have no clue what im doing, just going along what i read in a guide though it wasnt specifically refering to the conversion of VRO files..

    though a 3 gig VRO files takes about 2 hours with this process,theres a pretty good result. however is this the optimum quality root or should i be converting to Divx or something else..

    thanks in advance
    Nick

    Do you want to put them on a DVD-R? If so give TMPGEnc DVD Author a bash, it accepts VRO files.

  4. If you are able to extract the .VRO files from the DVD-RAM and save them to your hard drive, all you have to do is re-name them with the .MPG extension.

    .VRO video files are MPEG2 already. You do not have to re-encode them.
