  1. I want to add silence such as 0.5 second at the beginning of MP2 file. Any simple software can do it? I have tried Goldwave and Audacity but it can't save back to mp2 format. Please help. Thank you.

  2. Any suggestion?

    Now I use following method:
    1) use Ulead video editor. Input the sound file, MP2, to editline.
    2) shift the sound file behind some seconds such as 0.5s
    3) save edited audio file in mpeg format (tag name .mpa)
    4) combine the file by TmpegEnc Plus 2.5's tools (video: original mpg file, audio: above mpa file)
    5) the correction is completed.

However, I worry whether any loss when I make the audio file in step (3).
Anyway, I can't feel any loss when I listen to the final file.

  3. I doubt there will be any quality loss.
This plan is so bad, it must be one of ours.

  5. Create a MP2 file of 0.5 seconds and merge with the existing file.

    No loss.

TMPGEnc will take source video that has no audio track and fill with silence if its told to. Open any AVI in VirtualDub, and disable the audio. Then set source range to 0.5 seconds and save as Direct Stream Copy.

Take the 0.5 seconds of video (with no audio) and open in TMPGEnc, load the same template you used before then encode. (You might need to load the "Unlock" template in order to select Elemental stream MP2)

TMPGEnc will encode 0.5 seconds of nothing to a MP2 file.

Then just use TMPGEnc's MPEG tools to merge the two files.
