Topic says it all, looking to replace my old DVR-105 with a newer 8x burner. Mostly use my drive for data burning and DVDr (video) burning. Anyone currently own either of these guys? If so, how do you like it? I guess the major question I have is: what is the cheapest media you can successfully burn at 8x with? Did you have to use a non-standard firmware to do it?
Thanks!

I can say I'm very pleased with my retail A07XL, it is the new version without the fan, so far it is fast, totally silent and totally reliable. No coasters, burns everything as expected. I have not flashed it yet, planning to shortly. I also appreciate that it doesn't look cheap like the 107D OEM. At some retailers it's available with a 30$ rebate until 6/30, this is where I got mine, it's 119$ -30$ +shipping:

The also have it in black.
I'm seriously contemplating ordering another.
Can't comment on slower media burned at higher speeds just yet.
