Questions about DR-M10S

Hi,

I've done done some researching and have decided to get the DRM10SL. However, before I pull the trigger, I have a couple questions.

FulciLives mentions that can be had at eCost for $299. However, the list the model as the DRM10S, which is slightly different that DRM10SL that LordSmurf and others rave about. Are these two models the same? If not what is the difference?

Ok, my second question. I'm really new to this so I'm sorry if this question seems stupid I plan to copy a lot from Tivo and VHS and in both cases the shows will have comericals that I'll want to cut out. I was wondering if I could pause the recording while I fast foward past each comercial recording. If it is possible will it mess up the quality of the recording at all? Does that add a new chapter stop or is there a different way to add chapter stops while its recording?

DRM10S = DRM10SL = DRM10SUS
The boxes, stores, books and machines all have different numbers.
Why? No clue. But same thing. Tomato, tomato.

The PAL version is the same, with odd variations.

I'm also thinking about buying this JVC recorder, so does anyone know where I can buy a copy that will work and be able to record TV in Sweden (PAL country) for sure. They seem to be a lot cheaper abroad, especially in the US, than here in Sweden, but it's no use buying a copy from the US (or any other country) if it will not be able to record swedish TV when I get it. I have some friends in the US who can send me the recorder so the company selling it doesn't have to be able to ship it to Sweden.

I have also thought about maybe getting the Panasonic DMR-E55 or DMR E80 instead (if any of those, sold in the US, are able to record swedish PAL TV and somebody can tell me where to get it).

What is the biggest difference between the JVC DR-M10 and the Panasonic DMR-E55?
