everyone keeps saying that mainconcept is a great mpeg editor, but i don't know the correct settings to use to convert to dvd...when i put in my vcd or svcd, i make da changes in stuff, but i get...frame rates don't match...horizontal frame don't match...and stuff like dat and i just don't know what settings to use to make a good quick dvd...i see guides for everything except for vcd/svcd to dvd using mainconcept...please somebody help me

Ok,
let's start with the basic:
Have you tried to select a source file and then choose a DVD template?
If you do that, what does Mainconcept tell you about the format of the video and audio source? If it gives any errors, when do they come up and what do they say ?The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
