  1. Hi, I have a problem with still images in Priemiere (also the Pinnacle SW).
I would like to create a project with still images (photos from digital camera). When I export the project to DVD (or DV tape) and I can see a jitter of light, white and shining places of the photos on the TV screen (PAL).
I try to use "Video options - Frame hold - Deinterlace" but the problem after exporting is still the same.

Either before you load the images into Premiere, or after you have set up the track, apply a small gaussian blur (0.02). This will soft the image enough to avoid the interlace without making it look too soft on screen.

I suggest applying it to the images in photoshop before loading them into Premiere or you will blow out your render times. Guassian blur can be slow to calculate in Premiere.

OK, this is for premiere pro, but should be similar in previous versions.
    1. find your clip on the timeline.
    2. locate the gaussian blur video effect in the effects palette.
    3. drag the effect onto the clip on the timeline
    4. adjust the settings. premiere only allows adjustments to one decimal place, so set the blur to 0.1 in the vertical direction only
    5. render and watch

depending on the amount of shimmer, you may not be able to get rid of all of it without making the clip too blurry to watch. Just find the best trade off

Could colour correction perhaps fix this problem??

White is fine for your computer monitor, but not for the TV..

How about this, go to the titler, with the problem image in the backround..Use the colour picker, and pick the colour that gives you headaches. IF an exclamation mark appears above the colour, then you're using unsafe levels..

See if Premiere allow you to adjust levels, much like Photoshop does...

    Good luck!!!
