ok, im kinda new at this stuff but i think ive gotten the hang of it. this is what i do with my captures, please tell me if this is right or what i can improve on. i capture video from my compostite imput to 352x480. im using picvideo with the quality all the way up. with the capture i deinterlace(mode blend)it and resize to 352x240(nearest neighbor)it with vdub. with tmpgenc to make vcds, i do excactly what this page says, you know, high quality and i use that toolame audio thing. but when i put the source aspect ration to 1:1 like vcdhelper says, it looks almost letter box when watch it on tv. i guess what my question is, what aspect ratio should i put it in, 1:1? or what is default with the vcd (ntsc) template for tmpgenc? im not sure if this helps but im capturing vhs tapes that are already fullscreen on tv not letterbox. thank you so much!

Source aspect ratio should be 4:3 if you captured it.

Don't confuse display aspect ratio (DAR) with resolution. In theory you can have a given DAR at any resolution (theory being the keyword). Take a look at:
