    what??? i know theres the search range and method, but video encoder quality? what does that do? cant find a single thing about it in the manual...should I slide it up to 50? (its in the mainconcept encoder codec, not the standalong, FYI)

  2. The higher the setting the slower the encode process works. I think it has something to do with motion search. It's a tradeoff between speed/quality. I personally always max it out and get decent looking videos event at 4kbits. The encode time on my P4 2.8Ghz is about 1.5-2 times the lenghth of the video.

    what would be a good number for real-time mpeg2 encoding at 4.75mbits (352x480)?

    The manual that comes with it states that any setting over 11 is not noticeable.
