  1. I download some clip from internet which was encoded in XVid. The video is in 16:9 format, I converted it to MPG1 using TMPGEnc with 1:1VGA setting, but the output was in 4:3 aspect ratio, which was not great.

So I tried some different setting and saw output, with Aspect ratio in Video tab as 16:9 NTSC and also source aspect ration under advance tab as 16:9 NTSC . The output shows 16:9 when played with Windows Media Player, but when I burn a VCD (Using VCD easy and Nero) and play it on DVD player it shows 4:3?

Can some body please help me to found out what I am doing wrong?

you must add black borders or called keep aspect ratio,

because vcd do not support 16:9 anamorphic video.
