    Hi !

I'm making a dvd-music dvd (only music with some motion menues).
I have a menu for each and every song. Totaly 200 songs in mp3-format.

When I build the project in Adobe Encore a message appear where it says the size of motion menues are to big (something like that) so i can't create the dvd! The size can not be over 1 gb.

I have only one motion menue and thats in the main menu. When I remove that motion menu and build the project, the same message appears.

Does the songs in every menu make the menues to motionmenu or what? I really need help with this.

If you have audio on each of the 200 (?) menus, then Encore may well be creating a motion menu for each. It is probably also converting the mp3 audio into LPCM which will eat a lot of space as well.

In this case, mpeg-1 layer 2 is probably your best bet, but only if you live in PAL land. Otherwise you will need to get an AC-3 encoder.

Or, change the structure of your disk. If you have created all these menus in order to play back the songs, try putting all the songs in a series of clips (say 20 songs to a clip, 10 clips), with chapter stops marking each song. You will get around the size restrictions this way.

I dont't know much about EncoreDVD only it is a program supporting many options. So there should be a possibility to create a slideshow as menu. So if, try this to shrink your menusize.

ok thanks again for your answere.. but <cona812>, what do you mean with menu slideshow?

I don't think It's possible in Encore, or it is?

If I get an AC-3 Encoder, will it increase the size of the files?

  7. I only took a short look at Encore, so I really don't know much about it. I am using scenarist and you have the possibility to use a still as a slideshow there. You can set the duration of the slideshow and you can use an audiostream (not possible with still menus).

Ahh.. i see.. ok! But I have to make this dvd on Encore..

Is there any other way to come around this problem with to big motion menus?

If I could ignore the message and make the dvd anyway, then use dvd shrink maybe..

If I use a AC3-encoder, should I first encode my mp3-files outside Encore or does Encore inside the software with transcode?

If so, what kind of transcode should i use to encode with ac3 codec?

  10. I won't use so many menus. So the first thing i would do is to put four tracks together in one menu, for each menu i would encode an ac3stream (192kbps, 2.0) with a duration of 10 or 15 secondes. The resulting size for all menus would be something around 20MB (by using slideshows) or ~300MB (when using motionmenus with 3000kbps m2v and 192kbps ac3).
