I updated the ASPI layer in my computer to ver. 4,
now DVD Decrypter says No Devices Found.

Can someone explain to me why no devices are found.

    Thanks....

I have Roxio installed on my computer and got the same message originally. IF this is the case...the Roxio site has the fixes.

If you're using Nero you need the Nero ASPI driver. If you're using most anything else you use the Adaptec ASPI.

I had to install the Adaptec ASPI and "DriveUp" (updates the list of drives) with Roxio installed.
    All went smooth after that.

    Update.

ASPI (v4.71.2) was my problem. I kept on digging and found ASPI v. 4.6.
That solved my No Devices Found problem. I used DVD Decrypter without any problems.

ASPI v4.71.2 usually works if you do the "Exclude Miniports" patch. I don't know why Adaptec hasn't fixed it yet, alot of people have the same problem.......the installer doesn't add all the registry entries you need.

I know this is an old topic. But i am getting a dvd burner and i use nero on my CDRW which will be replaced with the Pioneer 108.

Do i happen to need ASPI V4.71.2 or is it called Force ASPI?

If i happen to use other dvd burning software will my ASPI drivers still be working even though im not using nero?

force aspi is more meant for XP.. but if your burner is currently working then you should be fine.. BUT aspi 4.6 is the most stable out there ATM. if you have no problems thens stay where you are.. if you run into some not found errors.. then just get 4.6 i found it on doom9s site.. dvd2svcd has it also.. but google it and youll find a copy.

yeah youll know.. im refering to the DRIVE not the drivers.. if they are not working properly then the drive will not show up.. in my last post i said.. if it aint broke, then i said unless it dont find the new burner.. implying that if the aspi are messed up the new burner will not show up.. GL

BTW.. if your getting a new burner im gonna take a guess and state that soon you will also be posting questions about speed etc.. if you do a search in this section youll find lots of data regarding speeds and ways to set up.. lots of good data here.
