how much of a ******* weird co-incidence would it be if cap did in fact discover a planet where the lifeforms were both vinyl instead of crabon based, and inflated themselves when fighting and screwing

  7. Can you not just rejoin the team? I didn't do anything to remove you.

    Hopefully it'll work this time!

yeah, you're correct. I just read on there where the stats are collected between a certain time frame of each day... last time they were updated on the site was close to midnight UTC (7pm here on the east coast of the US)

Doesn't seem to be even an unoffical client out there. If it supports OSX and Dual CPUs I'd put my new G5 on it during off hours... oh well.

  19. Now we'll see rally taking the lead in a big way as far as results returned go, but so far Ripper has given the most CPU time. 8)

Ahhhh... I joined a day later and still almost have the time and points in as Cobra and Ripper....

Actually, my machine as off bedtime last night had over 900 points and 4 results on it's stats... guess it'll pick up on that tonight.

as for the dual processor - I have a P3 dula 1ghz machine and two 850 P3's in the garage that will be going online tonight with this. So I'll be racking up the hours and points pretty quickly this weekend!

I don't know about the dual processor now... I just read this thread on UD's message boards:

    http://forum.grid.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=4624

scroll down a little and you see that the dual processor thing may actually return corrupted data back to UD - you still get credit for processing it, but the results get thrown away and are useless to UD...

might just leave it in single cpu mode then...

I didn't have the dual running on it until today. Up to then it has been the P4 1.6 internet machine crunching. Sometime next week I'll have the dual 1900 back up and running so I'll have that and the primary dual machine crunching. I'm still not quite understanding the results. Maybe we should switch to an F@H team so we can properly allow SMP?

BTW what are people's machine scores that the agent shows. I can't understand why my CSA GbE is half of what the comparison device is.

  25. Your score updates everytime you complete a task, then their web site updates once per day so it's always behind.

I don't get the comparison machine either. Why does disk space and network card mean anything?

Naw I dont want to switch, I have no smp machines other than the HT P4 at work and I like the cause....

Folding@Home is the same research only handled by Stanford University. F@H client can handle SMP or HT as it can be run multiple times, and it also has a better interface. Just a suggestion, otherwise two of my good computers will just be churning up corrupted results

I'll let Cobra start the team if he wishes as this was his idea in the first place.
    http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/folding/

BTW F@H also has Linux and Mac OSX clients available as well. Allow everyone to join...

  28. I have an old computer (260MHz pentium 64MB RAM win98) collecting dust but this thing doesn't seem to process a single ligand on it.

Working fine on my other machine (2.6GHz) though.
You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off.
