Hi I would appreciate any kind of help regarding this matter.
I have an avi file that I have saved in a cd. I tried to copy it to my desktop but after 10 minutes of copying a message pops us that says:
'Cannot read file Bad Dos work' (translating from Greek to English, Im Greek)
When I tried to play the avi file directly from the cd with Windows Media Player or DivX the file plays perfectly.
I tried to fix the cd using BadCopy Pro but no luck, the program said read error
I then tried to make an image of the cd to my hard drive, it also said 'Cannot read this part of cd'
The same happened while using Nero for an image and a copy of the cd.
Any help would be very much appreciated
Thanks in advance

Ok Im sorry but I kinda mixed up the forums
I will try it and I will ask again in case I need any help
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience -
Did you select to skip the bad sector ? or did it just stop at 54% totally.
-
When it reached the first bad sector I selected Retry and it read it. After that every bad sector it encountered I tried Retry but it did nothing, so I selected Ignore
It only had three choices
Retry Ignore Quit
I didnt see Skip anywhere -
Try Badcopy Pro :>
Homepage seems to be down, try this link instead:

Already tried BadCopy Pro as I said in my first post but nothing
-
Ignore is the same as skip, use this.
-
Ok Ill select ignore everytime I reach a bad sector and Ill leave it to reach the end and see how it goes.

I had one 225mb avi that had like over a thousand read errors and it was stil okay. I remember people on here posting far greater numbers than mine all with no noticeable differences.
-
Well it finished and the whole file is 350mb, I tried to play it with Windows Media Player and it said either the video is destroyed or it needs codecs. Ill play it with DivX later to see if this is what it needs.
If this doesnt work either, I dont know what to do -
Can you open it in virtualdub ?
-
Well I dont have VirtualDub here I have it at home.
Ill try it and if I have any problems Ill post here again.
Thank you so much for your help, you have been so kind -
Ok I opened it with VirtualDub and I started to play the avi file but the frame freezes every 2 seconnds
plays-freezes
plays-freezes
It also said it faced an improper VBR audio encoding or something like that
I dont know what else to do -

On another note, since I have not been able to do anything properly, I went the other way. I used the program EasyRecovery (to recover the avi file that I deleted after I dumped it in the Recycle Bin) but instead of finding it I found files that I had deleted months ago
This does not make any sense.
