  1. Hello, I am new to this board but I have been observing for about a year now. I would like to thank all of you regulars for your acurate and helpful knowledge. I have 10 hours of Micro MV, mmv. footage and I'm sure you all know the pain in dealing with this format. I have been able to capture my footage in .mmv format with Movieshaker 3.1 but I can't get it to an MPEG-2-PS format that can be burned to a DVD. I am trying something new. I found this article ---

    http://134.102.55.200/haupt/SonyIP7_to_MPEG2-PS.htm

--- It should allow me to capture my .mmv footage and convert to MPEG-2-TS then to MPEG-2-PS all in one motion by building a graph in a program called Graph edit. I have followed all the steps except #6 below the graph on the webpage linked above, it is as follows---

    6. Choose "Direct Show Filters" and select "Dump". Input a name like "mpeg2-PS_out.mpg (V2 2002-05-15)
"DUMP.ax" (source: only part of old version of GraphEdit) Download (don't forget to register with: regsvr32 dump.ax /s )

    ----
I don't know what any of this means but it is the last step in making this possible. Could someone please explain this step to me? What does make sure to register refer to? I have the dump file but I don't know how to register it and make it appear in the selections of Graph Edit. I tried to email the creator but I have had no response. You all are my last chance.

Any help is greatly appreciated and I thank you for your time in reading this post and trying to solve the problem. Thank you so much

Do just what it tells you to do. Register 'dump.ax' with Windows. Issue the command:

    C:\> regsvr32 dump.ax /s <enter>

at a DOS prompt. That will place the required entries in your registry so other programs can make use of the activex object.

  4. Please do not cross post. One topic is enough.

If you are unsure which forum to post in, pick the one that seems most appropriate. If wrong a Mod will move it.
