    Does anyone know a way to demux an avi movie? I do no think ffmpegx can do this with avi files?

    One workaround is to use QuickTime pro and export the sound to aiff and then export the video but uncheck audio (probably movie to avi (uncompressed) would be the best intermediate step).

    one possibility is to use the "passthrough" options in ffmpegx. another possibility which is useful for saving audio only is to use DivX Tool.
