  1. i converted and authored a avi to dvd and heres the files i got in my output folder. Someone mentioned that there should be vob files but none were created. I tried runnning winavi 2 more times and the same exact files were created , vob files arent present. Would it be ok to burn these onto a dvd-r or that wont work without vob files. I wanna be sure cause i would hate to waste a good ritek disk.

    Video_TS == IFO File
    VTS_01_0 == IFO File
    VTS_01_1 == MPEG File
    VTS_01_2 == MPEG File
    VTS_01_3 == MPEG File
    VTS_01_4 == MPEG File
    VIDEO_TS.BUP == BUP File
    VTS_01_0.BUP == BUP File

    It won't work, You don't have a compatible DVD then.

    There NEED to be VOB files there.

    I strongly suggest to use another DVD authoring tool.

  3. which other tool would you recoomend, i liked winavi cause it took 1 hour to do the whole process but tmgnc takes 10 hours just to convert!
    Are there any other programs that cant convert and author in short time.

    I am just reading about that WINAVI tool.
    I don't understand the problem, from what I read is SHOULD create VOB files to burn on DVD.

    Personally I use Procoder to create my MPG files and TMPGDVD author to create and burn the VOB structures....

    Are you able to read the extension name of the files?The way you got them listed is a windows description of what type of files they are with out the .vob,If the file extension option is set to none then you wont see the vob at the end if windows already recognizes it as a mpeg type of file.

    I'll bet that these files:

    VTS_01_1 == MPEG File
    VTS_01_2 == MPEG File
    VTS_01_3 == MPEG File
    VTS_01_4 == MPEG File

    are vob files. I'd also bet that you have Windows set to "Hide Extensions for Known File Types". If you set Windows to "Extensions for Known File Types" those files will show up as VTS_01_x.vob.

  8. Yea they are in fact VOB files, i just went to preview the video before i burn it, and there was a message "WINAVI Video Converter" in middle of screen for the whole movie. Why is the message appearing, is it because i have the trial version of avi

    "Free trial limited:
    1. It will show a registration window at the startup of WinAVI Video Converter.
    2. A watermark will be shown in the media files you converted."

    I just bought Winavi video converter and I converted some files. Everything was successful. I got all the right messages and then I went to look for the new converted files and can't find them anywhere. Can anyone help?
