  1. Is there any official firmware upgrades for this drive? Any help on this would be greatly appreiciated.

  2. Thanks for the info. Are these official or hacked firmware? If they are hacked can you tell me if these are reliable or if they will damage my drive?

  3. I recommend using the NEC ND-2510A RPC-1 firmware from TDB's website: http://tdb.rpc1.org/#ND2510A. I'm using the latest version (2.15) and the write quality with both DVD+R and DVD-R is outstanding!

    BTW, the NEC ND-2100A is the same as the ND-2500A, which is the same as the NEC ND-2510A dual layer drive.

    You'll need to flash your drive in DOS if you're updating to a newer model firmware.
