    M2v is typically mpeg2 video, mpv can be either mpeg1 or mpeg2 but from your post I'm assuming you are just having difficulty with mpeg2 sources.

    If you go to environmental options/VFAPI plugins and increase the priority of the direct show file reader plugin, they should load. But this is a horrible way to encode mpeg2 sources.

    You should frameserve instead. Just load the file in dvd2avi and hit file/save project file. It will create a d2v file which you can load in TMPGenc. This provides a stable way for TMPGenc to access the video source.
