Hey folks, I'm helping a newbie with a problem, and I've come accross something I can't seem to figure out. Basic issue is taking some odd size DiVX files roughly 540 x380 and converting them to 704x480 DVD compliant mpeg 2. So as to not loose any detail or generate any resizing artifacts I was just showing him how to use avisynth to add borders then feeding it to CCE Basic. We were fairly happy with the results, except I noticed that CCE was forcing the video to 720x480 if you clicked DVD compliant. Ok, no problem make it mpeg2 and adjust the appropriate parameters......oops, no way to set GOP length. Not one to be deterred I figured, ok I'll just edit the ecl..........works fine EXCEPT........... It doesn't do anything. No matter what you set the video size to or the GOP length in the ecl, CCE basic takes the settings from the raido buttons you use to select what format DVD vs. mpeg 2. What the??? Ok so I save the template file and edit that?? No dice, same thing, the radio buttons override anything in the file.

I've searched the program install directory and I can't find anything else to play with. Is there anyway to fix the GOP length for mpeg 2 files using CCE Basic, or alternatively is there anyway to set a DVD compliant file to 704 x 480 (or 352 x 480 for that matter)? Then in general, other than pre-filling in the boxes and buttons do the ecl and template files in CCE Basic actually do anything? I didn't play too much, but they don't seem to. At least not like regular CCE or the TMPEGenc files.
