  1. I have been using this board for nearly 6 months but I have observed a particular phenomena which I am not sure whether this is normal or not. When I switch on the UPS, I observe the following:
    1. The two LEDs on the cabinet glow momentarily and go out.
    2. The Processor fan rotates for few secs and stops.
    3. The LED on the mainboard glows and remains lighted.
    4. The LEDs of CD-Drive, CD-Writer also glow for few secs and go out.
    5. The Cabinet Fan also rotates for few secs.
Next, when I switch on the Power button on the cabinet the Computer boots normally as any other PC.
I have doubts about the sudden activity of the Processor fan, Cabinet fan, LEDs of Cabinet, Drives etc whether this is normal. I have never encountered such thing in my earlier boards. Recently, my new Pioneer DVD Writer DVR106 stopped working after use of 2 months. I think this sudden surge of voltage through the mainboard when the UPS is switched on is the culprit.
I have replaced the SMPS thrice and the same results.
Are there any members using this particular mainboard ? Do they find the same phenomena ?

Sounds like what happens when you bleed your caps after disconnecting power from the machine. Immediately after shutting your machine down unplug the power cord from it and hit the power button. Does it do the same thing that you're describing then? If so you may have something wrong with your power supply. Are there any other devices plugged into the UPS that are connected with this computer?

  3. I recently received a reply from Intel Support and they have informed me that the phenomena which I had observed is absolutely normal. This happens everytime the UPS is switched on and the mainboard receives power before the Power Button is pressed next.
    I am really relieved now.
