  1. I have little experience with authoring software so be nice.

Every once in awhile I like to put (up to 4) 30 minute TV shows on a DVD
and would like to have a simple main menu that would let me choose the shows.

Either with customized text or simply 1-2-3-4

I tried Tmpgenc to do this but it (seemingly) needs the ripped video files first and adds another 30 minutes to the process....which is something I don't want.

Is there any way I can create (or download something ready made??) a simple generic menu that is a seperate entity that I "just add to the mix" with my video ts files before I burn with Nero?

Thanks for any help with this....it's a problem I really need to solve.

    No.

In order to create a menu, you have to author it that way.

  3. Ok.

    That's unfortunate.

You'd think that it would be possible....after all, the shows must have some sort of indentifying marker that could be used to "point to".

I mean it all ends up as binary data so I don't know why someone hasn't done this....the first data on the disc is a main menu that simply loops and does a "GOTO" when the appropriate title is clicked on.

Do these menu creation programs (DVD menu?) need to do some lengthy processing with the video files as well?
