  1. Hi, I have a vcd with dual channel. Channel right is dubbed, while channel left on the video is the original audio. However, when I copy the video into my hard drive, my PowerDVD won't let me choose which channel I want to hear. Yet, it let me choose the left or right audio when I play the video from the VCD disc.

Is there any program that let me rip my VCD with the option to choose which channel I want? Or is there any software that split the video and audio, then I delete the right audio, then merge it back to the video? I don't know, please help. Thanks all.

Rip the vcd with either vcdeasy or isbuster and then extract audio with goldwave and copy channel and paste into other channel, read more guides to get further info.

  3. Ok, so I just use VCDEasy to rip the video instead of copy the video to my harddrive manually? Do I have to get Goldwave when I already have Cool Edit Pro? I don't know if Cool Edit Pro will extract audio Goldwave or not though. Thanks

Not sure if cooledit will open mpg files to extract audio, you can use virtualdub and open the mpg and save wav in full processing mode in the audio section and then open the wav with cooledit, then encode the changed wav with besweet with gui to mp2 and remux with either bbmeg or tmpgenc mgpeg tools.

  7. Hi again, do you think Adobe Premier Pro might be able to let me edit the video and delete the channel that I don't want? Thanks. I have the program, but my computer's ram is so low that I uninstall it already.

Dont think so,you have to edit the audio in one of the programs mentioned already and go thru the steps,no easier way, once you get used to it then it becomes much easier to do unless you are'nt good with video and audio editing to begin with and dont want to learn.

  9. Hi, thannks for all the help. I really appreciated it. Well, today I try to open that video of mine using Window Classic Media 6.4, and it have an option for me to choose which channel I want to play. Oh well, it work great because I don't need to do all the editing you showed me.

Anyway, I got one more question. Is there anyway to tweak my Window Media Player 8.0 to work like Window Classic Media? I really like WMP better than the classic because it is easy to work with..and looks nice too. Thanks for all the trouble.

  10. WMP 8 is an unfriendly program for those who liked classic mediaplayer. Microsoft is forcing people into their view of the world :^(

The classic media player is still on MinXP systems, you just have to find it. And yes it is ugly but the functionality that they now "shield you from" is still there

  11. I have a question about dual channels by using Cool Edit. I have both channels in my Cool Edit and I need to cut out some parts in a channel but the rest doesn't shift to get together. If I cut off the same part in both channels, the rest get together. How can I shift the parts to get together after cutting off a part in a channel? thanks
