Gents, what would be the preffered settings using tmpgenc to convert Tom & Jerry cartoons from avi to mpeg2 so i can fit as many as possible onto a disk without losing too much quality? Tried the wizard but cant get filesize below 1gb per toon!! Also seems to be at least 1 our 20 mins to convert a 7 minute avi. Surely this could be quicker? The avis are around 60mb per toon. I would also like to make a fancy menu, any suggestions?

    Thanks

don't use the wizard. it's restrictive and just complicates things.

download Gspot, drop in one of your .avi files and posta screen grab of the results please. after that we can talk settings.

  6. Could you also post your machine specs. Depending on the hardware, encoding times may be longer than you would think, especially with TMPGENc.

I know on my Athlon xp 2200 system, It takes me about 4 hours to do an encode in 2 pass VBR.
