  1. I am using ULEAD DVD Workshop 2.1

My HD is in NTFS format

It transfers the entire 60 minute video to the computer, but does it in 4GB sections (3 of them total) Why?

some software will split up the files in case you have a fat32 hard drive. there might be an option to turn it off, otherwise, you can use another program to capture. i recommend DVIO or WinDV

I use WinDV to copy my files. It actually will split the files into sizes based upon where I had paused in recordings. Sometimes I will have a 6gig file and then the next file is 100megs. I have not recorded a full tape straight through yet. Don't know if this helps you at all, but if it does, even a bit, then great.

  4. Ulead splits the file around 19 min of capture, unless you uncheck that option.
