  1. None of the dvds i have made will play on my standalone dvd player (bush dvd10005/a). They work fine if i play them on my pc or through my ps2. I have tried burning on several types of + and - media but it just won't play. I have some home made dvds that i bought off ebay that play on it fine.

    any ideas?

What procedure(s) have you used to create them? Be specific.

  3. Done it many ways.
    Rip dvd with dvd decrypter
burnt it with nero 6/dvd lab/copy2dvd and im sure some others i have forgot.

The funny thing is i have made a test menu, burnt it on a dvd, doesn't work. I then burn the exact same thing to a cd using the mini dvd option in dvd lab and it works fine.

  5. not tried them, are they likley to be more compatible? Its just strange that the copied dvds i have bought work fine. I have even done a straight copy of one of these dvds (not encrypted) and that doesnt work on my player.

There's your answer, crap discs. use ritek g04 or taiyo yuden discs.

  8. used about 4 different brands of discs + and -, none of the worked. I have ritek g04 discs and they don't work for me. I don't want to buy another dvd burner and have that not work as well.

put the discs that -do- work in your dvd drive and run dvdinfopro. that will tell you what dye type is on the discs, so you know what to buy in future.

Maybe it just needs a little oil?

Is your burner Dual Layer or your original disks are DVD5s? You only mention Decrypter and no reencoding or reauthoring, so I guess you don't edit your vobs in any way. How do you use Nero to burn? Try to create a new DVD video, drag your vobs and ifos in Nero's Video_TS folder and if DVD Video files reallocation fails, it's either your standalone player or your media. I wouldn't blame the burner before excluding everything else.

That's pretty much all you need. They are PRINCO discs that have been burnt with Nero.
    If in doubt, Google it.
