I flashed the firmware to 110 some time ago and have been happily burning at 8x, Today I saw there was another revision upgrade to be had to 116 so I went for it. I have tried to write some discs with Nero 6 but it will now only write at 4x. Have I dropped a bollock? Can I reverse the process if I have?

  2. You should be able to go back to the older firmware if you kept a copy of it. If you didn't then search around for it. I am sure you will find it.

I tried to load the 1.10 that I used last time but it said it was unable to find the target. When I reset my computer, XP said I had new hardware and reinstalled Pioneer drive. I tried again and this time my computer reinstalled the Compct Flash drive as letter G: insteaed of the Pioneer, The Pioneer has gone to the end of the line as drive Q: What is going on?

  4. Simply put when you updated the firmware the drive was re-recognized by XP. Unfortunately the drive letter it had before was taken over by the removable media and your pioneer drive was given the next available letter. Not to worry, you can change the drive letters simply by going to administrative tool in the control panel. Then select computer management and on the left side select disc management. Now just reassign drive letters as you please. The only drive you should not do this to is the main boot drive.,

  5. Fazza right click on that lighting thing and then change the letter G to Q and all will work

Cheers. Back to normal. I've revised firmware to 1.13 now and 8x is back. Think I'll leave well alone now!
