While trying to encode an AVI (XviD/AC3) movie as DVD, I got the "**ERROR: [mplex] MUX STATUS: Frame data under-runs detected!"-error. However, it produced a file with mpeg-2 video and AC3 audio, that seems to be working fine in mplayer and VLC. The new mpeg movie is complete, i.e. audio and video from begin to end, but only 2.72 GB instead of the expected 4 GB. No VIDEO_TS folder was created. There were temp files created named movie.copy and movie.mpv.

I tried a second encoding with "Decode with Quicktime" off, but this morning the application ‘Progress’ had unexpectedly quit, again after producing a working mpeg file, this time 3.88 GB in size. No (i) output, since the application was no longer running. A VIDEO_TS folder was created this time, but the one file, VTS_01_1.VOB was 0 KB.

  2. If Progress crashed, possibly your AVI (which seem joined), had some problems. If you kept the AVIs before joining, try to encode them separately (disable 'Decode with Quicktime' and 'Author as DVD'). Then use Sizzle to create the DVD.
