  1. Hi ,

I just got a WinTV PVR( the old one ) for my birthday ( today ) from ebay . Now i was trying to capture something .
As it is sunday and no shops are open here i had to hook up a vcr via the antenna cable to the card . This made it possible to watch the Video.

Capturing went fine - almost no CPU usage ( due to the onboard MPEG2 chip i believe ) . But when i want to watch it - with either Windows Media player or Power DVD it gets all blocky from time to time and sometimes skips for seconds. The whole file seems to be kind of messy . In PowerDVD i could check that the Bitrate is 9.8MB/s so that shouldnt be a problem . Is there anything else i should try ?

Iam recording with WinTV 2000 which i donwloaded from the Hauppauge site .

    System Specs :

    OS : WinXP SP1
CPU : AMD Athlon XP 2500+
    RAM : 1 GB
    GFX: NVIDIA GF4 TI4200 VIVO
    Board : ASUS

If there is any more info you need - or something wou want me to try - let me know and i will do it !

    Thanks alot already !!

  2. One more thing to mention ....

Whenever i click on one of the captured files - explorer crashes ...
Iam not sure if this has something to do with the capturing itself ... but it is worth mentioning i think.

As well i can see that my HDD isnt that busy .

Streaming Capture Device with Driver vers. : 3.0.19228.0
WinTV 878/9 VWF Video driver with vers.: 3.12.0.0

Thanx for the tip with the preview
