    Is it possible to convert video (recorded from satellite onto DVD recorder) in 4:3 to 4:3 letterbox?

    You probably mean something else because that doesn't make sense. Perhaps, you want to convert a widescreen letterbox movie recorded from TV into a real 16:9 picture that would fill up entire screen of a widescreen TV? Have a look at this thread, maybe it'll clear things up for you:
