Has anyone noticed any difference between 4x Verbatim Datalifeplus media made in Taiwan vs that made in Singapore when burning at 8x (ND-2500A)? I recently bought two 50-disc spindles of Verbatim DVD-R media, both made in Taiwan, both with media code of MCC01RG20. I burned a few discs at 8x and after running DVDINFOPro's scan disc function I found some errors. Burns at 4x and 6x show none however. As a comparison I have some Fujifilm 4x DVD-Rs I'd burned at 8x (TYG01) and these show no errors at all. Unfortunately I have no Singapore MCC media to test and was wondering if anyone else could do so for comparison. Here is a pic of the scan:

You're not supposed to burn 4x media at 8x. That's the problem.

Then why do burners support this feature? And as I said, there were no errors with the Taiyo Yuden 4x media burned at 8x, only the Mitsubishi Kagaku media.

    - Burning companies are not media companies.
    - They do what people want, even if what they want is not good for them.

I ran some scans in another drive since the NEC burners aren't known for being the best readers. No probs detected on the disc from the other drive (Toshiba DVD-ROM) so I'm not going to sweat it.

  6. True, the Nec2500 is a good burner but a bad reader
