  1. I have been trying to put some titles on a clip I am putting together but cant seem to get anything of high quality. I am using the title generator in Premiere 6.0, keeping my RGB values below 200, and using NTSC safe colours.

The results I get usually show big bleed marks around the edge of the letters.

My letters are large font, have bold colour such as red on dark grey.

just make a graphic background with letters using any gepahic edting software. Id your clip is 480x480 so as your title ann so on. I'm using Paint shop pro making my introduction to my movies and it works fine. Rememeber that the format should be "jpeg", then just put it in front of the movie clip when burning the image or mpeg file.

  3. The still image format on a VCD is not JPEG. It is MPEG-1 for VCD and MPEG-2 for SVCD just like the video clips.

mikk describes here on how to create a real still image for a VCD: http://www.geocities.com/mikk999/VCDStills.htm
