DVD

  1. Hello, i have recently started to make DVD's from the SVCD which i have been gettin, i have been doing this with DVD Lab where u import the file and it then runs, transcodes audio to 48khz etc. But.......when watching the dvd on my dvd player it looks fine and there can be no notice of out of sync talking etc.........but when i fast forward the dvd........the audio then goes out of sync? is this because i am fast forwarding or because its just out of sync anyway ? its let me baffeled lol

  2. It may be out of sync anyhow.
To aviod the problem, demux in tmpgenc's mpeg tools, re-encode audio to 48khz in any audio program (or even tmpgenc using ES), then import the separate audio and video streams into dvdlab.
Compile and test on PowerDVD or WinDVD before burning.
If audio is out of sync, adjust in dvdlab (look on the tools menu).
    Cheers, Jim

  3. by saying the tools menu, do u mean the audio delay section ? if so, do all i need to make sure is that both are equal ? if so they are !! and as far as the demuxing goes, i have started using tmpgenc as i kept getting errors whilst using dvdlab!

If your audio is slightly out of synch with video, don't make them equal in the "audio delay" tool in DVD Lab. Rather enter a positive or negative offset for the audio. Negative 200ms (-200ms) seems to work for me for the times when DVD Lab can't mux the audio and video correctly. Note that if you use Tmpgenc to demux, it will create an mp2 file, which will not work with the audio delay in DVDLab. You'll have to convert the mp2 to an mpa with some audio program, like BeSweet and then it will work. I have better luck demuxing with Tmpgenc than when I let DVDLab do the demuxing. Use BeSweet to do the audio transcoding also - better than DVDLab.
