  1. Not 100% sure I'm in the right place, but here goes:

I have The Hulk in PAL and my DVD player does not do PAL to NTSC conversion. I'm assuming this movie is has a film framerate. I check the guides, I didn't see anything for a PAL film DVD to NTSC film DVD conversion.

Right now it's not practical in any way to do anything other than a main movie conversion.

Basically you need to rip the main movie only, demux it, re-encode both the audio AND the video, and remux it. Then reauthor it.

It's a HUGE pain in the ass, and forget about menus or extras.

  3. Ok, I have just the movie, no menus.

How would I go about converting it?

    Ok, the ROUGH steps are:

    1. Convert/Demux VOBs to m2v and wav files.

    2. Run the audio through BeSweet to upsample.

    3. Run the video through Main Concept or TMPGEnc (or CCE if you're brave) to convert the framerate (from 24 to 30) and the size (from 720x576 to 720x480).

    4. Mux it back again.

    5. Reauthor in your favorite authoring program.

  5. I found another way...

I did it with Nero Vision Express. Had to reauthor the menus, so they looked ugly (I'll probably touch them up with DVDRemake Pro next), but it worked on my standalone with the test DVD RW.

    Took 6 hours tho - I'm running Pentium 4 1.4GHz, win XP)

[edit - Nero VE did the conversion for me, no need for disassembly - add assets, define titles, get chapters, do menus, press go]

There is no such thing as PAL film. PAL is 25fps any which way you have it.
    If in doubt, Google it.
