    Hey guys,

I'm having a bit of a problem. I have a couple of anime series with hard subs encoded into the video. That eliminates any possibility of repositioning the subs. The problem I'm encountering is that when I make a DVD and play it on a regular TV, the subs are slightly outside the safe area. This makes them incredibly difficult and sometimes impossible to read.

Are there any programs that will shrink the video and add a black (or whatever color) border around it? I figure that would effectively "pull" the video back inside the safe area. Any other solutions?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

How are you making your DVD's? What programs? There's several ways to resize your output.

Yes, you can, but it requires a re-encoding of the video. AVISynth can do this easily (when you use it to frameserve to your encoder).
