  1. I can specify in tmpgenc the start and ending frames of a big AVI,
but I couldn't find in Mainconcept.

I don't need editing but I just need to encode part of the AVI

Or it is not cater for in Mainconcept ?

    thanks

I use Virtualdub mpeg (a mod of virtual dub) and cut out the part of the avi you want. Then I use Mainconcept to encode. Use "direct stream copy" in Vdub for video and audio.

  3. I just tried to encode a AVI (capture by Sclive) to VCd using mainconcept.

I got beep and beep sound from the beginning and on and off throughout the VCD.

but there is no such sound in both source AVI and VCD encoded by tmpgenc.

Did you encounter such problem ?

No. Mainconcept has worked flawlessly for me to date. Don't know why you get the beep. Could extract the audio to a .wav file with Vdub and use that as your source file. But I don't think that's your problem.
