    convert to AC3
The Q is - why would you want to do this? TMPGEnc can't decode AC3. SVCD can't have AC3 audio. What you want is to take the audio from the AVI and decode/convert to WAV for use with TMPGEnc. This can be done with VirtualDub.

Extract the ac3 with virtualdub in direct stream copy and then get besweet to convert it to mp2.Dont need tmpgenc to encode the audio, mux it back to the m2v with either bbmeg or tmpgenc mpeg tools.
