hey guys i have tried several guides and read many post before bothering u guys with my question. i need someones advice on how to burn like 7, 23 minute avi files onto one dvd. i used a couple guides, i found converting with tpmgenc took way too long and cce converted my files to like 3 min long mpgs. any advice or which guides to use or what i should do would be great thanks. and if possible dumb it down a little for me im not much of a computer guru.

well...you aren't going to like this but....
TMPGEnc Plus is one of the best ways to convert AVI to MPEG-2...if you are going to author the DVD with TMPGEnc DVD Author.
It's not a quick process, converting video formats is one of the most CPU intensive operations you will ever shove through your computer. If you want increased speed get a faster processor.
If you are just wanting a normal MPEG-2 file you can use any video editing software that has MPEG-2 output...there are several.
Some other information would help, like how long are the AVI files. What AVI format? Are they DivX(MPEG-4)? Your TMPGEnc settings (big bearing on speed). -
thanks for the reply, well i know its not gonna be a quick process, but here is some more info for you. its the trailer park boys season, each file varies from like 21 mins to 23 mins long. its an xvid and the audio is mpg1 layer 3. should i join the files together before encoding them? and also when i tired using vdub to extract the audio using one of the guides it says no audio decompressor could be found to decompress the file. any recommendations or tips would be great. like i have said i have tried a few guides with not much luck.

no audio decompressor could be found to decompress the file
Decode ???.mp3 to wav with CDEx
That way it desn't matter if VDub finds a decompressor or not.
