  1. Hi
Are there any problem with Nero versions over 6.0???
I tried 6.0.3 (I think it was) but when I burned a DVD (in DVD-Video mode), there were problem when playing it back in a standalone DVD.

I now use Nero 5.5.9.14 and burns in DVD (UDF/ISO) with UDF 1.02 which was recommended with the 5.x version...

Anyone else had any problems with 6.xx versions???

Nero can't quite seem to get DVD-Video right. I recommend using other tools for doing this.

Copy2DVD, for example, makes perfect DVD Video discs.

  3. Mago!

I had the same issue when burning with Nero 6. After burning a movie, it plays back fine the first quarter or first half of the movie then it will start to hang or skip. It would not matter if I played the movie on the computer or DVD player, it would do the same thing.

If I burn about 4 GIG of data onto a blank DVD disc using Nero 6, it would be successful but when I click on some of the files (using Windows Explorer) towards the end of the DVD then my Windows Explorer will hang.

So now I use Roxio DVD/CD Creator to burn data onto DVD discs and for movies, I use DVD Shrink to rip the movie in .ISO format and burn it onto a DVD disc with DVD Decrypter. So far it works great!

BTW...the new DVD Shrink can rip and burn it to a blank DVD disc at the same time if you have DVD Decrypter installed.

I have roxio and tried doing that but it didn't work. However I think it's because I'm using windows ME and it doesn't like those large files. I just tried copy2dvd for the first time and it successfully burned the dvd decrypter to dvd shrink files I made so now I just have to keep my fingers crossed the movie plays in my standalones and I'll be set.
