  1. I am burning VCD from working cue/bin files (I know they work as they have worked on "other" machines) using CDRWin. I have an LG 16x DVD drive and an LG 12x CDRW. I start CDRWin and choose "Load Cue Sheet", it loads successfully. I burn the CD and it finishes with "Operation successfully completed".
Here is where is gets strange...
If I browse to the burned disk through Windows (98 SE) Explorer, the disk appears empty, no visible files. But...checking the disk's properties reveals the appropriate amount of the disk space used on the CD. Also, I have tried 3 different DVD/VCD players and all of them say non-compatible disk!
I have installed the drivers for my Tyan Tiger motherboard again and enabled DMA. (just to make sure)
I have reburned the disk(s) several times and after discussions with friends find that the "amount used" is equal to the size shown on "other" machines.
I have had this happen with TWO different movies which each consist of 2 disks. (total 4 different cues attempted, all with the same results)
I have even set Explorer to show hidden files and still see nothing on the burned disks. I know from earlier experience that there should be a ton of files, including the .dat file.
    I'm stumped!
    Somebody...PLEASE...tell me what's up!
If you can offer some explanation, please contact me at the email address attached to my username, or at happydick@happydicks.net
    or on AIM.
    MUCH appreciated =)

    Cheers!

Have you tried to burn with another software than CDRWIN? because some "cracked" versions of cdrwin burn blanks.

try the two free ones, namely TSCV and VCDEasy (I use those two and they work flawlessly for me)

  5. TSCV and VCDEasy both use CDRDAO to burn the CUE/BIN. I would suggest you install CDRDAO on its own. There is a very nice Win32 GUI for CDRDAO called "XDuplicator" that is freeware too.

I wrote a guide on how to burn CUE/BIN images here: http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd/burning_cuebin_images.html
