Ever since I started looking into the whole area of DVD Writing and such, and since I bought my DVD Burner (Pioneer 107), one of my interests in getting it was for data backup. AND, cutting down on the number of data CDs that I have and using the superior storage size of DVD-Rs in their place.

However, I can't seem to find any software, like a variation of Roxio's DirectCD or Nero's InCD to be able to just drag and drop files (image files, documents, software, AVis and MPEGs, etc) onto a dvd-r the same way you would onto a cd-r. I've done some searching of the forums and using Google and can't seem to find any information on a subject matter such as this. All the literature concerning DVD-Rs seems to be for movies, but since DVD blanks can store a lot more data than blank CDs, why isn't there any information/software to be able to do this?

    Can anyone help?

    Shocker,

No software came with my burner, it was an OEM Pioneer 107 from SVP.co.uk.

I have the latest version of Nero, but haven't installed it as I have Easy CD Creator 5 installed from previously and to install InCD, it states that you have to remove DirectCD. I will probably install InCD and try it.

    Thanks.

I've hated Easy CD creator since way before they became Roxio and when I found that I'd have to buy a new Adaptec Easy CD creator when I went from '95 to '98.

Nero is a decent all-round CD/DVD burning app.
