  1. OK guys, I definitely need someone with more experience than I have had. I burned a DVD+RW with CloneDVD2 and went to play it on a Mintek 2110, which is supposed to play +RW, and it was no go on 2 different machines. The disc would play on a Panasonic S35. I tried again with DVDShrink and go the same result. I gave up, assuming I had two lame players. I then went today and burned a different movie with the same exact set-up and even used the same +RW disc. Being a perpetual optimist I tried it in the Mintek and found it now worked in both players. Assuming everything was the same (version number, hardware, firmware) is there anything you can think of that would have caused this or was I just dealing with a weird burn the first and second time? Needless to say, I want to recreate the circumstances that allow these +RWs to be played.

    Thanks

Added: Now the next one I burned won't read. Maybe the size of the data makes a difference?

The MINTEK 2110 does not like any RW media. It chokes on RITEK DVD-R media too. You've got to feed it MXL and TY and TDK discs, else it may not work. TY gets best results. I know that player.

  4. Thanks, I have been lucky in that mine seem to like everything but +RW, even Ritek. Since the only reason I went to +RW was for the write speed I will stick with -RW as other brands of +RW will cost more than the costs of a good +RW player.
