Im converting a movie from avi to dvd with UMSP 6.5 I can only fit a 16 min movie on my cdrw 80min cd. Is that normal
or can I fit more ? setting 720x480 bit raate is variable at 5500.

You will NEVER fit a movieon a managable amount of CD-R media with THAT bitrate. Try lowering bitrate & resolution and make a SVCD or VCD.
At that bitrate...the answer to your question....

The problem is you're using the DVD template to put your movie on CDR (vs. DVDR) media. You should use a VCD/SVCD template w/ a bitrate between 900~2520kbit/s if you want to put your movie on CDR.

Thank you for fast reply but I tried to put a vcd movie on a cd and it came out very blocky I tryed all different settings but still got the blockyness. I even used Tmpgenc but still got blockyness in the final video, my home dvd palyer will play vcds but it looks blocky on the screen.
