Michael, I just wanted to thank you for helping me fix my audio problem that I was having in all of my captures. In case you don't remember, the link is at the bottom of this post.

I used Cool Edit's FFT filter of "Low Pass 11025 Hz" and now all of my captures sound wonderful and there is no lousy background noise. I didn't even notice any quality descrease.

This really brightens my day because I was hoping to get this problem solved by Christmas so I could record all of my favorite Christmas shows.

I'm glad that you got it working.

As I stated before, you should try to get to the bottom of the noise though as it definitely should not be as severe as you've described it.
