  1. Hello

using QTPro, the editing arrows on the QT screen below the movie can be finely tuned using the keyboard left arrow and right arrow.

its very slow. is there a modifier key that speeds they keys up?

    thanks rotut

Nope, the arrow keys (and mouse scroll wheel) only advance one frame at a time. You'll just have to use the mouse to position the playhead where you want it, or activate the fast-scroll buttons.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  3. thanks

unfortunately I do not know what the fast scroll buttons are. if I select one of the editinig arrows on the program, the use the button on the left or the right of the 'paly' button, it palys the movie and does not move the editing button.

are the buttons on the R and the L of the play the fast scroll buttons?

    thanks rotut

Yes, those are the fast scroll buttons. No idea what you mean by it not moving the editing buttons...

  5. hello again

sorry for being imprecise. I was trying to speed up the edit buttons, to faster than a frame at a time.

my mouse skills moving the editting buttons leaves something to be desired, and it seems to take 'forever' to move the editting triangleswith the L/R arrow keys.

maybe there is no way at all to speed this up.

if I select an edit arrow, and then the fast forward or fast reverse, it reverts to the play mode, not the edit mode.

    does this help clarity?

    thanks rotut

OK, I think I see what you mean. No, there's no other way but to go one frame at a time, or use the mouse to move the selector. I'd suggest getting a nice Logitech wireless optical mouse for precise mousing.

  7. thanks for all your help

indeed the other day I upgraded my mouse from a wired logitech to the MX 700.

it might help a little, but its hard to get the time pointer close enough. I have a TV card (alchemyTV - great one) and have a lot of cooking shows to edit.

Ill ask a QTPro scripting question in another thread about that!!
