  1. I have a PAL DV video file. My goal is to make a SVCD compliant video of it using the apple MPEG2 encoder. I did the following procedure
    1. Opened th e DV file with QT pro
    2. Exported the video using the apple MPEG2 encoder that comes with DVD studio; framerate 2,5 + save audio
    3. Converted the audio AIFF file to a MPEG layer 2 audio stream
    4. Used TMPGenc to multplex the streams (SVCD template) (VPC)
    5. Burned the video using Nero (VPC)

It played ok on my pioneer DV444
But the quality is not too good. When I did another test with a higher framerate, the sound was distorted and the video became choppy.

I want to do another test with the above procedure but I first want to resize my video to the SVCD standard of 480 X 567 before encoding it.
What is the best solution for this and what settings do I need to configure. I prefer a mac tool. Please some help

Does QT pro resizes it or TMPGenc?
I wouldn't resize before encoding but during.

You could always try better CD-r's or a CD-rw.

Just some small tips because of a lack of SVCD experience...
