Here's what i mean..I did many conversions of PAL DVD's to NTSC DVD's. I've even captured PAL VHS, and converted for NTSC DVD's.
But now, i've gotta go from VHS to VHS, and previous methods are not economical for this situation..

I've got a shit load of PAL tapes coming my way, and there's no ecomomical way of importing, and the exporting again to NTSC tape..

    Should i
    a) Capture with PAL, and output to NTSC with my Video Out (and cross my fingers), b)buy an expensive VCR that converts to either format, c) See if there's somehow that i can cap in PAL, and export simultaneously with the video out on my card to NTSC..

I realize that quality could take a slight hit, but that's the least of my concerns..ANybody out there doing on the fly conversions??

    Thanx...

  2. You should hook up the pal vcr to your capture card and the ntsc vcr to your video out port. Just "watch TV" with the capture program and make it fullscreen. The picture should be displayed through the video out port. You can just run sound straight through. This method worked for me when I made an ntsc backup of a european radiohead tape.

Was there any flickering or jumpiness?? I'll also assume that there's a bit of colour loss, but that's not a big deal...

Your specs are different, but i'll cross my fingers with my card..

    Thanx...I'll give it a go.
