I have Panny DVD recorder with hard drive and am using DVD-ram disc when recording 2 1/2 to 3 hrs of shows (seemed Ram preserve better quality than DVD-R when recording longer show) so do you know of any free software that allows me to convert from .VRO to .VOB files so it can be played on any dvd players. Any editing is not necessary.
My friend has a moviefactory 2 and videostudio 6 that he can load to me but will it read and make the convert of those files?
LMK. Thanks!

Your answer to your question has been
answered many times before, first you
must have a drive that can read DVD-Ram
as i do, toshiba's are pretty common, so
is the pioneer 107d,and some LG models
though i dont know which...Use Tmpg 2.5
select mpeg tools, and then demulitplex
and then reauthor it and way you want to
Spruce-up is great option, ifoedit and
tmpg author can do it also, good luck!! -
Will either Moviefactory or videostudio do the trick? If not, I can try those software you recommend.
Thanks -
You put the disc in your DVD-ROM (assuming that it can read RAM discs).
You rip it using DVD Decryptor in file mode.
You demux the .VRO files with TMPGEnc.
You then fire up the authoring tool of your choice (ANY authoring tool will do here, you're not doing anything fancy) and rebuild the resulting files into .VOB files.
Then burn.
Simple, huh?
The only thing that might not be free is the authoring proggy... but one would assume that one came with your drive or that you have one if you've been making DVD-RAMs.

DVD-lab PRO is an authoring program that can import *.vro files.

Its not free as the post title suggested. Its the price of a DVD recorder!
