  1. Hello.

Using the Canopus ADVC-100, I captured video using Windows Movie Maker. I then decided to switch over and use Pinnacle Studio 8. It will not open the clips I captured.

The clips were captured in AVI-DI Format because I wanted to make a DVD.

Obviously, I have no clue as to what I'm doing.

If anyone could tell me why/how I am having the problem with Pinnacle and what to do about it, I would appreciate it. I got the impression that I couldn't make a DVD using Movie Maker. Am I incorrect in that? The "help" seems to discuss burning to CD-R or RW only.

From now on, I will certainly just capture in Pinnacle to avoid this problem, but I wondered if there was a way to not lose all my other work.

    Thanks.

    Julie

i believe windows movie maker only captures type 1 avi, where pinnacle only uses type 2. or maybe its the other way around. but either way, you need to convert it to the other type or captue it again using another program. i would recommend dvio or windv to capture.
