    Take a look at http://www.cosmic450.com/mediatek/hacks.htm for a number of mediatek chipset hack.

    For my M550 I found that hack 1 brought up the menu, but I couldn't select a region as my firmware is region free out of the box.

    Reply and let me know which hack works for you, and if you get the selection menu. Also where did you get your M550. I got my from the Duty Free shop at Sydney Airport.

    Hey Dr!

    Did you ever get a region hack for your Conia M550? I also got one at the airport (Darwin) before i realised that i was taking it to another region....opps!!! Giving it one last go at trying to get it to work before buying one in the sales.
