people... i have spent so much time trying to figure this out.
now, i'll explain what i am trying to achieve here.
i have ripped 2 movies in 2 seperate folders on my HDD using DVDShrink (each movie has been shrinked to about 2200MB) keeping all the extras and everything.
what i am trying to do is simply put these movies together in 1 disc, simply with one main menu which allows you to select which movie you want to watch.
basically, the moment you play the dvd, it comes up with a 2 movie selection menu. say you select movie2, and it will come up with that movie2's menu structure, whatever that is!
hope you guys get the picture.
i know i'll get a few replies with regards to quality etc of the dvd's. i am not concerned with the quality right now.
i just want to know how to do this.
if there is more than a way to do this, please tell me all of them as the more learning experience the better.
please guys. hope you can help...![]()
thanks heaps in advance

Simple answer: No, because of file structure.
Complicated answer: Do a forum search. It's been asked a hundred times. -
Yes you can, (well almost) and I have done this with the New InterVideo DVDcopy.
Granted the main menu of everything together can be confusing.
And you cannot adjust any of it to your liking but it does work maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but maybe the next best alternative.
I did this for the Winsor Pilates 3 disc set to 1 disc.
And I did this for the Pamela Anderson Disc 1 and Disc 2 Bonus Disc, Collectors Edition to 1 disc.
So it's possible (well almost) and given the alternative, editing all the movies and shorts(extra's) with DVDMaestro or DVDlab and making your own menu which is time consuming, etc... this is a great alternative, fast and efficient.
Oh ya almost forgot, even shrinks your movies and extra's down for you so you don't have to go through shrinking them and then putting them together.
There is a free 15 day trial with the InterVideo DVDcopy download. This maybe what you are looking for. Have not found any other program that makes the Main menu title set for all the the individual movies and shorts (extra's) except for InterVideo DVDcopy.
Word to the wise though once you install it don't uninstall it. In previous experiences I have had InterVideo products they have toasted my system when I unistalled them, not even a system restore was able to help. So just let them be.

Almost any DVD Recorder can record them and create a selection menu for you. Some recorders can even let you select the scene you wanted for the thumbnail selection or add many more thumbnails on the menu.

Wrong. He's talking about keeping the menu system intact and creating a portal to each individual "disc" on a single DVD, which cannot be done.
Dragonfly2337, explain how you would accomplish this, because you can't. -
Trying to help someone out at 3:00am.
Correct, you cannot make One Menu that will take you to two different disc's and there individual menu's on one disc.
But the next best thing would be to use InterVideo DVDcopy that will shink both movies and extra's and make one menu with one or more pages to get to all the movies and extra's that were on the two disc's.
Unless you want to take the time to shink everything movies and extra's and then use DVDMaestro or DVDlab and construct your own menu's.
Hopefully my screen shot's of the Title Menu's all put together on one page will give a better idea of what I am talking about.
To big will try examples:
I hope someone finds this helpful. -

Mac,
I'll have to try that, if it does what it looks like it does you may have made a lot of people very happy here.

the only side effects I can see are that if you call the root menu while playing the movie then you cannot resume the movie when you press play (small price to play) but resume works fine if you call the audio/subs menu. I did get this to work by change a few values but then calling the root menu would always call movie 1
. I didn't have time to have a look but I'm sure you could sort it somehow
another was that the THX optimizer in the 2nd DVD doesn't work as it goes to disc 1's. I guess a simple fix woul be to copy the THX menu PGX and then change the button to point to the extra pgc instead
any other feedback would be good if you do try it Gurm so I can make sure I'm nothing missing anything serious -

once again,
i've got 2 movies on 2 seperate discs
i wanna put them in one in exact the same way... basically like just make an exact replica of the dvd image, but just compressed to fit on 2 thats it...
and have 1 VTS manager that sits on top of these 2 movies that controls it
thats all...
it sounds doable... just don't know how... -

I'm pretty sure you could at least get the main, audio & chapter selection menu's and disable all the buttons leading to extra's etc on a few DVD's. The hardest part would be keeping the extras intact and working
@yking90, you should be able to do it but it depends on what the DVD structures are like on the DVD's, what you want to keep from both DVD's and what tools you have (or are prepared to get) to do it with. Tools are advancing all the time and I think it's going to get easier to add 2 DVD's together
the guide doesn't show you but the Star Wars merge I did now also has a new top menu that allows me to call either movie from starting playback. It was rather simple (about 5 minutes work) as I added a menu PGC in a new VTS and pointed the first play to that instead. It was actually a menu I copied from the DVD and then just changed the button commands to call the Root menu of the movies VTS. If I was doing it properly I would create a main menu using something like DVDLab and use that in the merger instead -

the hardest part is that you do have to go through all the commands and buttons and update the Titleset jumps etc but you just add the least complicated movie afterwards so there is less to change as the first movie virtually stays the same. With this combination it took me 5 minutes to scan through and make 10 changes
I hope to get a basic guide online soon
